4th International Conference Art and the Automobile (2006)

4th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ART AND THE AUTOMOBILE
Madrid, November 14 To 16, 2006. MAPFRE Auditorium

The Eduardo Barreiros Foundation and MAPFRE organized their Fourth International Conference: Art and The Automobile. The conference focused on aesthetic trends, and the factors and values that have influenced automobile design throughout its history. The automobile has depicted both the values and the changes taking place in society. Nowadays, the greatest concern in the major R&D+I design centers is safety, but not to the detriment of the design per se.This multidisciplinary conference featured lectures and round tables exploring subjects such as speed in the virtual world; the impact of transportation on human evolution; industrial art and design; automobile design as a snapshot of history; the key to major automakers’ success, and prominent Spanish entrepreneurs
